More about me - Part Superhero, Part Hot Mess

The funniest “fun thing” about me is that I am equal parts superhero and hot mess. I can impress the heck out of someone and at the same time confuse them with my inability to master the simplest of tasks.

I can organize a festival for 100,000 people and realize my clothes are inside out while doing so.

I can lead a room full of power players with grace and confidence and I will also drive away with my phone on top of my car.

I am both hugely confident and accomplished and also feel like an alien living amongst the earthlings.

I never ever blow dry my hair without also reading a book.

I never ever read a book without a pen in hand —underlining every sentence that excites me feels necessary.

I am surrounded by books and find it impossible to leave a bookstore or library without a few of them.

I am a Master Naturalist who understands the least about nature but adores hanging out with those who do. I have no idea what they are talking about most of the time but I love to soak it all in, anyway.

I learn best by embodying knowledge. You can tell me something all day long but I won’t understand it until I get my body involved. This is very frustrating for me and for those who are trying to teach me something!

Directions are my worst nightmare. Hearing about them and someone trying to discuss them with me is even worse.

If you want to discuss the weather with me, I will go along with it, but only if you insist.

My biggest dream as a young girl was to be a dancer. It wasn’t financially possible in my younger years, so now in my 40s, I am pursuing this dream with joyful abandon.

I dropped out of 8th grade completely and worked full-time at the age of 14 (somehow writing “16” on the application worked for over a year!).

I became best friends with a homeless man named Jimbo, when I was 12. He was a lost soul with a beautiful heart and he is the reason I possess a profound love for 70s music. Every time I see an empty field, I long for those sweet days of freedom.

I adore connecting deeply with humans and inspiring people to feel better and pursue their heart’s truest desires. When two hearts connect even in a moment of truth as strangers, we remember why we are here. I live for that.

I identify as an empath. I can feel deeply and need downtime to recover.

A rainy day excites me beyond belief. Most especially if I can snuggle into a cozy candlelit room with piano music and a pile of books.

A cozy blues club with a few friends who “get it” is absolute heaven. Add a rainy day to that mix, and I will happily stay forever.
